Attendance & Graduation Requirements
In order to receive a diploma, the student must have an attendance record of 90% or higher and all quizzes and homework must be completed. If a student fails to complete requirements, the maximum time allowed to complete them is 1.5 the normal duration of clock hours offered. For example: Multi-Media (day session) is 4 weeks long, therefore a student has 6 weeks after the class graduation date to complete the course requirements. If not completed, the incomplete will turn into a failure. Upon completion, the student will receive a DIPLOMA.
Students may miss class only for matters of pressing urgency such as illness. A tardy is defined as arriving more than 10 minutes late for the start of class, after lunch, or leaving class early. More than 10 minutes late equals 1 clock hour of time to make up. Three tardies in a program or a lower than 90% attendance rate at any time during enrollment may result in the student being put on Probation. If the student does not correct the behavior while on probation, the student is subject to suspension from the course and will be allowed to re-enter the next available course, paying all costs and fees in full. There is no credit for prior learning, students must complete all required clock hours. Missed classes can be made up by attending that class on the next available date that falls under the 1.5 maximum time allowed. A student who must take a Leave of Absence (LOA) may do so provided he/she has first received approval by the Administration. LOA applications are available at the School’s Administration Office. Students who are granted a Leave of Absence must return to the school within six months to complete the enrolled program. A request for a LOA must be submitted during the time of enrollment. Any student who does not return following the leave of absence period will be refunded in accordance with the applicable and published policies and withdrawn from the course.
