BEAUTY - FASHION - FILM - TELEVISION - THEATER - 490 hours This is our longest, most comprehensive program for students who want to be well-rounded and train in every media. In the first segment, students learn all the fundamental makeup techniques: clean beauty, airbrushing, bridal, glamour, high fashion, music video, and high definition television. Next, students are immersed in the world of fashion doing makeup for print advertising, catalogs, head shots, editorial layouts, body art, and runway shows. They gain self confidence & on-set experience in numerous photo shoots as they begin building their book & on-line portfolios. Then students go on to acquire the knowledge, techniques, and on-set experiences to work in the theater, film and television: industry terminology, script breakdown, continuity, set protocols and the skills to transform an actor into whatever character the script demands. Character Makeup employs aging, injury simulation, bald caps, facial hair application, and prosthetic appliances. This program is consistent with the criteria required for membership in the major makeup artists film unions. Our instructors are all members of IATSE- (the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees). This class explores the intricacies of the fashion world. To work with models, photographers, and designers, you need specialized skills: set etiquette, industry terminology, lighting and product knowledge, and the makeup techniques to do print advertising, catalogs, editorial, and runway shows. In our fully equipped photography studio, you will begin building a diversified fashion portfolio. As the makeup sponsor of the International Miami Fashion Week for the past 8 years, Cosmix students get the chance to work on Miami's exciting fashion shows. It also provides a basic foundation in skin care for working makeup artists and satisfies the licensing requirement for freelance artists practicing in Florida. The program covers the knowledge, theory, and hands-on procedures needed to perform skin care treatments. skin sciences, facial massage and treatments, waxing and other hair removal, basic makeup artistry, and business development. Graduates are licensed by the Florida Board of Cosmetology as Facial Specialists at the completion of the program. The program includes 8 courses: Skin Sciences Basic Makeup Artistry Sanitation & Sterilization Business Development Esthetics: Facial Procedures and Practical Florida Law Hair removal HIV/AIDS Training A Diploma is presented upon completion of a Program. A Florida State License is awarded within a few weeks of completion. Tuition $3900 Material Fees $500 Financial Assistance> INDIVIDUAL COURSES For individuals who want to expand their knowledge in a specific area or have a time constraint, Cosmix allows students to enroll in individual courses. Fundamental Makeup Technique is a pre-requisite for enrollment in certain courses. A Certificate is awarded upon completion.
