Who Are We?

We are the only licensed School of Makeup Artistry in South Florida. We are not a beauty or cosmetology school, or a retail company. We are a post-secondary technical institution licensed by the Florida Department of Education offering training in makeup techniques for every media (film, TV, print, bridal, and runway) as well as a special effects makeup school.  

We also offer training in skin care for those wishing to satisfy the Florida state licensing requirements for freelance makeup artists. We are a make up school for serious students who want a career as a professional makeup artist. We do not offer short 2 to 3 day workshops. 

Our graduates work with musicians on videos or photographers and models for magazines or runway shows; freelance doing special events such as weddings; work for a trendy retail company like MAC or Make Up For Ever,  at a cool store like Sephora or Ulta, and working with actors and celebrities for film, television or the stage.

The faculty and staff at our school of makeup artistry are extraordinary. At many schools you study with only one teacher. At Cosmix we want you to experience the various styles and techniques of many award-winning working artists who are dedicated to excellence in their craft. You will have many teachers as you attend any of our makeup programs. Makeup artistry is an artform. If you were a painter, would you want to only study Van Gogh's technique or would you want to experience all the great masters?

Airbrushing is one of our specialties, a skill not widely taught in the makeup classes at other schools.
