The Jay Cannistraci Scholarship for Production Makeup Artistry

A cherished friend and a film industry legend has passed on. On September 15, 2011, Jay Cannistraci lost his courageous battle with cancer.

Jay launched his film career in 1969 as a premiere Makeup Artist in the film Goodbye Columbus. Jay worked with directors Woody Allen, Oliver Stone and James Cameron and contributed to over 100 movies and TV episodes. See Credits>

Most recently, he was one of Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry’s Film & TV instructors and was instrumental in helping build the school into what it is today. His family, friends, faculty, and students will miss him. He was a great inspiration to all of us.

Cosmix has created a scholarship in his honor that is awarded annually in December to an individual who has the passion and dedication to pursue a career as a professional makeup artist in film and television.

This scholarship provides full tuition and material fees for the Production Makeup Artistry Program
