Can you believe a makeup artist school located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida?! You can come to school and have a beach vacation too! Fort Lauderdale's world famous coastline is punctuated by an array of shops, restaurants, and sidewalk cafes. Miami is a fashion hub that hosts Miami Fashion Week and other special events. Fashion magazines do photo shoots all year round in South Beach. The school is located close to the beach, two blocks east of a main road, Federal Highway (US 1). You won't find any makeup schools in Florida that offer more.
Classrooms
Our makeup school classrooms are spacious, mirrored environments designed to enable students to work at maximum efficiency. Full spectrum lighting is necessary for color matching skin tones and product selection. Large LCD televisions are used to view Powerpoint presentations, browse web sites, and permit teachers to view and critique students' work, as well as show a wide variety of makeup on print or film. Students watch the current fashion shows or to study the designer's collections in detail. High definition cameras connected to the LCDs zoom in for close-ups during teachers' demonstrations. Our skin care classroom incorporates its own array of specialized equipment and simulates a professional environment.

Our Photo Studio
To obtain industry bookings, a makeup artist must present a professional portfolio. Students collaborate with our photographer and models to produce an array of media looks. Our fully equipped photography studio ensures professional quality pictures. High Definition Monitors allow students to see their makeup through the “eye of the camera” and make any adjustments in the makeup, hair, wardrobe or lighting before the start of the shoot. Students acquire set experience as they participate in advertising, bridal, black & white, vintage, and high fashion editorial photo shoot. See Photography Studio>

Student Store & Makeup StudioCosmix's school of make up studio offers a full menu of makeup services. Whether a client wants a private lesson, or to look amazing for a special event, our graduates are professional makeup artists who share their talents and make it happen. Our graduates are skilled in techniques for film, TV, runway, video, bridal, print work, airbrushing and custom blending. They are all passionate and talented artisans dedicated to their art. Many students get their first real-world experience as a makeup artist assisting with a wedding or special event in the studio. The Resource Library
The resource library contains books, tapes and DVDs on subjects ranging from fashion styling to making monster heads. Library hours are 9 am – 5:30 pm MWF and 9 am – 9:30 pm on T/Th.
