Tuition Scholarships

Industry Professional Scholarships are available to licensed cosmetologists, facial or full specialists, or nail technicians. For those who qualify, these scholarships provide $1,500 tuition assistance for Production, Fashion or Freelance Makeup Artistry Programs. There are a limited number of scholarships available each year. Entries are accepted all year long.

Artistic Scholarships are available to professional artists applying for Production, Fashion or Freelance Makeup Artistry Programs. Categories include drawing, painting, ceramics, clothing design, photography, graphic design, and other art mediums (not makeup artistry). For those who qualify, these scholarships offer $1,000 tuition assistance.

Industry Professional Scholarship applicants must submit a copy of their cosmetology, nail, or skin care license by mail or email to info@cosmixinc.com along with their scholarship application. Artistic Scholarships applicants must submit a hard copy portfolio or link to an online portfolio to info@cosmixinc.com along with their scholarship application.

All applications must include all pertinent contact information including name, street address, email, phone number, and date of birth. Entries will also include 3 essay questions, with a minimum of 100 words for each question. The essay questions are:

  1. Why have you chosen this particular career?
  2. What personal attributes or talents
    do you have that would help you to be successful in this career?
  3. Do you have any experience in the entertainment, beauty, or art industries?

Entries must follow the above guidelines or will not be considered for entry. Entrants will be judged solely on their written expression and no previous artistry experience will be required to receive the award.

Legal: Applicants must meet all the enrollment requirements (must be 18 years old, have a high school diploma or G.E.D., be fluent in English and free from physical handicaps that would prevent them from working as a makeup artist). International students must meet the requirement of qualification for an M-1 Student Visa, under the regulations of the U.S. Department of State.

The Scholarship may be used at the Fort Lauderdale campus and the student must start classes within a year from the date of receipt. The funds are for tuition only. There is no cash award or cash value for unused funds. Scholarship recipient is responsible for all travel and accommodations as no housing or travel is included in the scholarship, nor can scholarship funds be used toward housing or travel costs. Entries will be reviewed by members of the Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry executive team.

Annual Jay Cannistraci Scholarship is in honor of an industry legend and former instructor at Cosmix. It consists of entry to the Production Program including full tuition and material fees and is awarded annually to an individual who shares the passion that fueled Jay Cannistraci in his successful career. Entries are accepted all year and announced annually on December 15th. More Information>
